About

We Knit – You Can Too began life back in 2013 but the history behind it started a few years earlier.

My daughter was helping to run a small crafty corner in Liverpool and to help me make friends I asked if I could start a knitting group there one afternoon.  The group didn’t really take off, mainly because I didn’t really know how to advertise it.  I simply thought word of mouth would be sufficient.  I made a couple of good friends, so times are never wasted.

In 2012 we moved down to Cornwall and once again I decided to use knitting to help me find new friends.  There was a group meeting literally 50m down the road from where I lived.  Sadly, I found that meeting in a pub was too dark and I couldn’t really see what I was doing but on the plus side I met some lovely ladies and some who came with me when we started a day time group elsewhere.

In November 2013 I decided to take a risk and sell DROPS yarns online.  The business grew steadily and as the knitting group was looking for a new venue I decided to take the plunge and open a small shop/cafe nearby.

Coffee Corner Collage

October 1st 2014 the We Knit Coffee Corner opened.  I bake all the cakes etc myself and serve Fair Trade teas and coffees.  You can pop in for a quick coffee or bring your knitting and stay a while.  We have several groups that meet in the week and I like to run courses to teach or improve knitting and crochet skills.

Over the past 12 months I’ve met a lot of lovely people and the cafe has a real buzz to it.

Of course, I still sell DROPS yarns and I’ve added Woolcraft yarns to the mix as well.

Why not pop in sometime if you are in the area?  You’ll be sure of a warm welcome.
